The Ketchup Vampires is a german import of vegetarian suckers that was given a direct to video release in the VHS heyday and sealed away for all eternity when DVDs shown their golden rays. Narrated by Elvira, Horror Movie Hostess. Lucky for you, pdfu.net respects vampires that live off ketchup and made them available here @ PDFU.NET for everyone! Followed by "Ketchup Vampires 2"
What did you think of "The ketchup vampires"?
NOD Review
The Ketchup Vampires is based on a children’s series from Germany. This 90 minute “movie” is narrated by the 1990’s horror hostess Elvira (Cassandra Peterson). It’s comes off kind of spotty and uneven, as Elvira really “narrates” the entire story. Her voice-over inter-cut with the visuals and dialogue of the characters. It kind of works, but takes some getting used to. Makes me wonder if the original German edition had an entirely different story or stories. Here’s my review of the Americanized version:

So the “bad guys” in the first episodes are regular vampires who consume “blood Sausages” instead of Ketchup. It’s all very European with a sub-plot about Dracula’s legacy, journal etc etc.
The music is interesting, kind of 90s pop thing going on. Luckily there isn’t much of it.
The similarities between Ketchup Vampires and the Twilight movies are quite apparent, from the name of the female lead (Bella) to good vampires and bad vampires. The writing is a little better but the tone is the same. Hmmmm….makes me wonder.
The pacing is brisk, like most cartoons from this era.
The characters are very annoying, but the show does have fans. And not just 90s cartoon who automatically like everything from time, like the whole ketchup vampires theme.
I haven’t watched Ketchup Vampires II, but will for a review on that page. The stories are self-contained and haven’t seen much in the way continuation. But that could always change. It’s an interesting cartoon and I plan on doing more research as there is very little info on this strange little production. All and all, not a bad way to spend your Halloween afternoon and/or evening.
